This information is relevant for BU Students and BU Staff email (@brandonu.ca) accounts.

You might expect a certain Email message to arrive but can't find it. You check your Junk mail folder and still can't find it. Perhaps it is stuck in "Quarantine"
Sometimes messages are "Quarantined" as phishing or highly suspicious. This is the first place any messages would be withheld, and is separate from your "Junk Mail" folder.

You can look at your BU Quarantined email list anytime, by signing in here with your BU staff/student email address and password:

Place a checkmark besides the relevant message, and a Details window should appear.

You may choose to either preview or "release" them to your mailbox. (It also submits them to Microsoft for Analysis by default, so that future messages will likely pass through)

It's important to know that messages will only be kept here for about 15 days, so if the message you are looking for was sent more than two weeks ago, you may need the person to re-send the message and check again.

IMPORTANT: messages in BU Quarantine are flagged as highly suspicious, so please only "release" ones you are certain are from the correct senders.

If you are unable to locate a missing email from within the BU Quarantine system, you may need to check the second-level "Junk Email" folder within your BU email account, to see if the message was accidentally marked as Junk or Spam. The guide on how to do so is here: https://helpdesk.brandonu.ca/a/solutions/articles/13000028585
