This guide provides steps for BU Email users to set
- Setting Up vacation or out-of-office notices
 - Providing generic replies/responses to the sender when a message is received and regardless of who sent it
 
NOTE: If you are looking to perform the steps on a "shared" Mailbox account, you will need to log in to the shared mailbox using "Single Mailbox" method outlined here first:

BU Accounts using Webmail:
- Open your internet browser to the https://webmail.brandonu.ca website.
 - Enter your BU Email Address and BU Password
 - Once Logged in, click on the Gear symbol which is located in the upper right area of the scree, then click on View all Outlook Settings
 
- Click on “Mail” then "Automatic Replies"
 
- Under the Automatic Replies click “Send Automatic Replies", and type your message.
 - Click Save when done (in the bottom-right)
 
BU Accounts using Outlook Desktop App (Windows):
- Open Outlook
 - Click on File menu at top-left Corner, then click the menu button that says Automatic Replies
 
TIPS For Automatic Replies
- If you only want the rule to operate within a certain date range, you may also set a start and end date so that this rule turns on and/or off by itself
 - If you want to have external users (IE emails sent from other adderss other than senders using @brandonu.ca addresses) you will want to turn on "Send to external users" as well
 - You should test/verify that the rule is working.
