This article guide outlines how to power cycle your BU Avaya phone. This process typically should be done if your BU Avaya phone is not showing your standard extension screen, or is displaying a message such as the following:
- 'Acquiring Service' onscreen for 3 or more minutes
- 'Emergency Calls Only'
**For a phone display asking to 'log in' with a username and password, refer to the instructions here: How to Log In your BU extension on Avaya Phones
To restart the power on your BU Avaya phone
Turn the phone over. Simply unplug the left-most network cable (red circle) OR the AC adapter (orange circle, if there is one) and then reconnect the cable back into its spot.
Please note: doing this step will temporarily interrupt any network/internet access for any computer devices connected to the right-side network port on the phone (typically a desktop or laptop computer in an office)
The BU Avaya phone will take upwards of 5 minutes to reboot. If you are still having issues with the phone after rebooting, please contact the BU IT HelpDesk.
