FortiClient App for Windows 11 from the Microsoft Store

Follow this link, which should take you to the Microsoft store and the FortiClient app.  If asked to "Sign me up" or login to a Microsoft account just close the message window as you do not need to do that to proceed.  The browser screen should look similar to the image below after any pop-up windows are closed.

Click "Get", which should start the download process

Once the file has downloaded, click 'open' to finish the installation

You should see a message similar to the one below saying to go to the Security - VPN settings on the computer to finish setting it up.
Close any windows or programs that are open.
On your computer, in the search bar type "vpn" and select "VPN settings" from the list of options

Select "Add VPN"

On the right hand side of the page click "Add VPN"
In the VPN provider field, select FortiClient from the drop-down list

Connection name type: buvpn
Server name or address type: https://buvpn.brandonu.ca
Leave the rest of the fields blank.
Click Save

You will now have a new vpn connection called buvpn on the "Network & internet > VPN page, which will look similar to this:

Click Connect.
Sign in with your username and password and click OK.

**For faculty,  when you see the "Verifying" message, you will need to confirm the DUO prompt on your MFA device.
If you successfully connected the Connect button will turn to Disconnect.

When you are done with the vpn, disconnect from it by going into the vpn settings and selecting "Disconnect"

To access the VPN again, type "vnp" in the search box, select "VPN settings" and click on Connect beside "buvpn"
