How to enable multiple monitors/displays using remote desktop
Step 1 - Connect your second monitor to your computer/laptop

Option 1 – if you do not have a remote desktop shortcut on your desktop
- Click the windows icon and start typing “Remote Desktop Connection”, and select it from the list if items displayed. When selected the window will look like this:
- Type in your office computer name (if you have not entered it before): eg: HDesk18.bu-ad.brandonu.ca
- Click on “Show Options”
- Enter your username as: bu-ad\username
- Click the “Display” Tab and select “Use all my monitors for the remote session”
- Click “Connect” and when your session connects you should be able to drag screens back and forth to the other monitor
Option 2 – if you have a remote desktop shortcut on your desktop
- Right click on your remote desktop icon – select “Edit”
- This will bring up the remote desktop connection information
- Click the “Display” Tab and select “Use all my monitors for the remote session”
- Click the “General” tab, then click “Save” to save the changes
- Click “Connect” and when your session connects you should be able to drag screens back and forth to the other monitor
- The next time you click on your remote desktop icon the second monitor will be enabled and you will not have to set it again. If you want to undo the settings, uncheck the box from step 3 and save.
