Mac Mapped Drives for Staff
Map a drive to staff share, home drive or student share as follows:
Mac
If you are accessing a share (mapped drive) from off campus, you will first have to connect to the VPN with FortiClient. When you have successfully connected move on to the next step. If you are on campus and connected to BU_Wireless, then you do not need to connect to the VPN, continue to the next step
At the top of the Apple Screen, Click “Finder”
On the menu bar click “Go” then click “Connect to Server” or after clicking Finder press the Command Key + K, this should bring up the “Connect to Server Screen”
N drive: For the Server Address type: smb://bu-ad.brandonu.ca/Staff/Home/username then click Connect (you can click the plus to add it to the Favorites Server list so you don’ t have to type it again)
On the “Enter your name and password” screen, select “Registered User”
In the name field remove “administrator” or whatever existing name is there and type:
bu-ad\your_bu_username
In the password field type: your_bu_password
Click connect
Now you should be able to go to your home drive (or share drive) and view, add and delete content
Your mapped drive connection usually stays connected until the computer is restarted. You should be able to find the N drive (called staffhomedir$) under “Computer” on the mac, and the T drive will show up as “shared”.
