This article outlines how BU account users enrolled in DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA) will typically interact with DUO on a daily basis.
If you are not enabled and enrolled for DUO MFA, please see the enrollment setup info here: DUO - Enrollment in MFA
When you are setup with MFA, you will be prompted for your second factor of authentication 'DUO' when using any of the BU services or systems that require multi-factor authentication. There are several different authentication options, depending on your original enrollment request.

- When using the recommended smart phone application you will receive a notification to your phone during the authentication process.
- You must select "Send me a Push" and then, on your smartphone device, you can either approve or deny the authentication attempt.
- If you ever receive an authentication attempt that is not from your own actions, deny it and report it to the BU Helpdesk.
