Installing and Launching Teams

  1. Open a web browser
  2. In the address bar type:
  3. Sign in with your BU email address and password
  4. Click the Teams icon
  5. Close any pop-up windows that appear (just Teams introducing itself)
  6. Download the desktop version of teams by clicking the download icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
  7. When you download the app, depending on your browser, you can either directly run the download, or first save the download then run it from your download folder or by clicking on download at the bottom of your screen (if it shows up there) to launch the installation
  8. When Teams is installed, it will open and be ready to use. Teams should launch automatically the next time you login to your computer; it can be minimized to just run in the taskbar. Notifications will be indicated by a red exclamation mark on the icon when you receive a new chat and/or pop-up notifications in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen
  9. The first window that will be displayed for you is the "Teams" window.  If you have been added to a Microsoft Team then those teams will show up in that window.  You can also use the chat feature by clicking "Chat" from the left-hand side of the screen and start a new chat by clicking the small icon at the top of the screen that looks like a checkbox with a pencil in it
